Sailendra Narayan (Junior) College

Sailendra Narayan Junior College is located in Rajkanika, which is in the Kendrapara district. It’s a small place and the college is a big part of the local community here. We mostly have students who have just finished their 10th standard and are looking to do their +2 in arts or science. The building is simple and sits in a quiet area compared to the big cities. We don't have any flashy signs or big entrance gates. It’s just a gate and some classrooms and a small office for the principal and the clerks. Most of us who work here are from the nearby villages, so we know the students and their parents personally. We spend our time going through the textbooks and preparing the kids for their board exams. In the rainy season, the area gets very green but the roads can be a bit tricky. We don't have a lot of modern tech, just the blackboard and chalk and our voices. It’s an honest place where kids come to study and move on to bigger colleges later. We have a small library where they can sit and read. It’s just a regular junior college doing its part in Rajkanika. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just teach the classes and keep the records straight. There isn't much to it besides the daily routine of bells and lunch breaks. We stay open during the day and close up early in the evening.
