Laxmi Barah (Junior) College

Laxmi Barah Junior College is out in Ayaba, over in the Kendrapara district. It is a quiet place compared to the bigger towns. Most people around here know us because we have been in this spot for a while. The college building sits among some open fields, and in the rainy season, everything turns very green. Students come from all over the local villages, many of them walking or coming on their old bicycles which they park in the front. We have a small office where we keep all the records, and the desks there are piled high with papers. It is not a modern setup with glass walls or anything. It is more of a traditional place with high ceilings and heavy doors. During exam time, the whole atmosphere changes and everyone gets very serious. On normal days, you can hear the murmur of lectures coming from the open windows. The pin code is 754212, and we are easy to find if you ask anyone in the village. We have a small tea stall just outside the main gate where the staff usually grabs a quick cup in the morning. It is a simple life here, focused on the daily grind of classes and making sure the students attend their lectures. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just keep the doors open and the schedule moving. The benches are a bit old, but they work. We like it here in Ayaba.
