Srija Granites

We have been here at number 25 in Pakirwada for a while now. Being right by Vidyarthi High School means it gets pretty busy around here when the kids are coming and going. Srija Granites is mostly just us working with stone slabs every day. It is heavy work and the yard gets quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up in Kattarampur. People come in looking for stuff for their floors or kitchens and we just show them what we have in the stacks. Sometimes the slabs are really heavy and it takes a few of us to move things around so someone can see the colors properly. We spend a lot of time just organizing the yard and making sure things aren't leaning in a way that’s dangerous. It isn't a fancy place with a big showroom or anything like that. We just have the stone out there and a small space to talk to people. Sometimes the machines for cutting make a lot of noise but that is just how it is when you work with granite. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot because once the sun is up, moving stone under the open sky gets tiring fast. We just try to get the orders done and loaded onto the trucks without too much fuss. It is a simple setup we have here and we just keep at it day after day. Most of the people who work here live close by so we walk to the yard.
