Sri Krishna Granites

If you head down to Chegurthi and look for 11-96, that’s where you’ll find our granite yard. It’s a basic setup, really just a big open space where we keep the blocks and the finished slabs. The sun hits the stone all day, so it stays warm even after the sun goes down. We have been working with stone in this area for a few years now. Most of our days are spent loading and unloading. We use old rollers and some manual lifting to get the pieces onto the tractors or small trucks. It’s a bit slow going, and my back usually aches by the time I get home. There’s no office to speak of, just a small stool and a table where we keep the notes. Chegurthi is a quiet place, so we don’t get a huge rush of people, just a few local builders and people fixing up their floors. Sometimes we get a batch of stone that isn’t quite the right color, so we have to sell it for less. We don’t mind. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. The neighbors know Sri Krishna Granites as the guys who are always covered in stone grit. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in, one slab at a time, without any big fuss or bother.
