Jay Ganesh Marble

If you are driving along the By Pass Road, you will find Jay Ganesh Marble at Shop No. 4. We are right near the government school so you see the kids walking home in their uniforms every afternoon. The shop is on a stretch of road where the traffic moves pretty fast but people still pull over to look at the slabs we have out front. We keep the marble pieces leaning against the walls and sometimes it's hard to move between them when we get a new delivery. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning so we try to get the heavy lifting done before it gets too bright. There is a lot of dust from the road that settles on everything so we are constantly splashing water on the stone to show the true color to anyone who stops by. It’s a simple setup with just the shop and a small area in the back. We hear the school bell ring throughout the day which helps us keep track of time. Dealing with these heavy stones is hard work on the back but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We just stay here at the bypass, watching the cars go by and waiting for the next truck to arrive with more stock for the yard. It's a steady life. We don't mind the noise from the school or the cars, it just becomes part of the background after a few weeks of working here.
