Adithya Welding Works

We spend most of our time out here in Kothapalli, right near the village center. It gets pretty hot during the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the metal sheets. Adithya Welding Works isn't a fancy place, just a workshop where we handle whatever comes through the door. People from Jammikunta bring in broken gate hinges or stuff from their farms that needs a quick fix. There is usually a lot of iron scraps lying around the floor and the sound of the grinder going is constant. We’ve been at this spot, H. No:3-302/1, for a while now. Some days it’s just small repairs, other days we are busy cutting heavy frames for hours. It’s dusty and messy, but that is just how welding goes. We keep our tools in the back corner, though they usually end up scattered by noon. The neighbor stops by for chai sometimes while we wait for the power to stay steady. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. Most of the folks around Karimnagar know where to find us if something breaks. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the smell of burnt metal and the flash of the torch. Sometimes the rain slows us down since the roof leaks a bit near the entrance, but we just move the machines back and keep at it until the job is done for the day. It’s just the way it goes here in the village.
