Venkateshwara Cement Works

We are right next to the SBI bank in Manakonduru Mandal, specifically at D.No.9-76/2. It is quite easy to find us if you just look for the bank sign. We have been working with cement for a long time now. My hands are usually covered in grey dust by the end of the day, but that is just how it goes here. We make various things, mostly for the local houses and some small government jobs that come through. It gets really hot in the afternoons, so we try to finish all the heavy mixing and pouring early in the morning. The shop itself is not fancy at all. We have some sheds and the yard is usually filled with bags and finished pieces drying out in the sun. Sometimes the truck delivery gets delayed because the main road is so busy, but we manage to get things done. My brother helps out with the accounts, though he prefers being outside more than sitting at the small desk we have. We know most of the people around here by their names. They come in for a few bags or to ask how much it costs to make a small water tank. We do not have a big office or anything polished like that. Just a small room with a fan and a couple of old chairs where we sit and drink tea. It’s a simple life, mostly just keeping the machines running and making sure the mix is right for the day.
