Taking Private Tutions

I do these private tuitions right from my place at L/299 in the Gangapur Colony. It is in Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur, which can be a very hot and dusty place during the summer months. I have a room set aside where the kids sit. It has a big table and some chairs I picked up over the years. I started doing this because I realized I was good at explaining things to the neighborhood kids. Now, I have a few groups that come by every evening. You can hear the sounds of the colony outside, kids playing or people hawking goods on the street, while we are inside going over math or science problems. I don't have a big sign or anything, just word of mouth between the parents here in Kanpur. Sometimes I have to tell the students to settle down because they start chatting too much. We use old notebooks and whatever textbooks they bring from school. It is a very simple way of doing things. I usually have a glass of water or some tea on the side while I work through the exercises with them. The room is a bit small, and when there are five or six kids, it gets a little cramped, but we make it work. I like seeing them finally understand a tough chapter. It is just me running things here, keeping track of the hours and the lessons each day.
