Our office is at 69/156 in Danakhori, right on Station Road. It’s a good spot because the station is so close, but that also means there is always a lot of noise and people rushing past the door. We spend most of our time talking to young people who are looking for a bit of direction with their careers. The office is filled with files and folders from over the years. We have a few desks set up and some old chairs for visitors. It’s not a flashy place, just a working office where we try to keep things moving. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing down notes on pads of paper. Sometimes we have two or three people waiting at once, so it gets a bit crowded in the small waiting area. We try to keep the fans going because it can get quite stuffy during the middle of the day. Working on Station Road means we see a lot of different people every day. We usually have tea delivered from the shop down the street around eleven. It’s a simple routine of checking applications and talking through options. We don’t use any fancy systems, just honest talk and a lot of paperwork. By the time the evening trains start getting crowded, we are usually finishing up for the day and locking the front gate. It is hard work but we are used to the pace.
