Maruti Traders

Maruti Traders is located at 93/144 in Nai Sarak. This whole area is just packed with shops and people moving around with carts all day long. We deal with various goods, mostly trading whatever the local market happens to need at the time. The space we have is actually quite small, so we have to stack our boxes and bags high up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside if you don't know where things are kept. Most of our day is spent talking to customers who drop in or answering the landline that never seems to stop ringing. Nai Sarak has its own rhythm, and you have to be fast to keep up with everyone else. We don't have a fancy showroom or a place for people to sit down. It's more of a functional spot where we do the heavy lifting of buying and selling. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few hours and we just sit there with the doors open, waiting for the fans to start again. We know all the neighbors well since everyone is squeezed in so tight together. Lunch usually comes from one of the small food stalls just down the lane. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us handling the daily books and making sure the deliveries get sent out through the narrow back lanes. It can be stressful when things get busy, but we manage. We’ve been here for a while.
