If you head down Hamirpur Road, you will find us right opposite Baradevi Park. It is actually a nice spot because of the greenery across the street, even though the road itself stays pretty loud with the buses and cars. At Maheshwari Traders, we have a fairly standard setup. We carry various items that people in the trade or homeowners might need. Our shelves are usually pretty packed and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what you’re looking for in the back, but we know where everything is. The shop has been here for years. We’ve seen the park change and the road get wider. Most mornings start with us sweeping the front and getting the inventory out so people can see we are open. We get a mix of people stopping by—some who know exactly what they want and others who just want to see what we have in stock. We don't do much in the way of advertising. We just rely on being in a good location and treating people decently when they walk through the door. It’s a local way of doing things. We stay open until the evening, then lock up and do it all again the next day. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We like being part of the community here on Hamirpur Road. We keep things plain and simple for everyone who visits us.
