Econ Concrete

Our yard is out on Bithur Road, specifically Plot No. 16 in Kalyanpur. It is pretty easy to find since we are not too far from the IIT Kanpur campus. You can usually hear the sound of the mixers going from a distance. The ground is always covered in a bit of grey dust, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. It is just the nature of working with concrete. We have a few trucks that go in and out all day long, heading to different sites around the city. The traffic near Kalyanpur can get stuck sometimes, especially in the evenings, so we try to get our deliveries out early in the morning while the air is still a bit cool. My desk is tucked in a small corner of the shed where I keep track of the orders and the staff schedules. It is noisy and far from what you would call a clean office environment, but it gets the job done. We see a lot of contractors and local builders coming through here. Most of them have been dealing with us for a long time. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on getting the mix right and making sure the trucks are loaded on time. It is hard work, and the sun gets really hot out there on the yard, but it is what we do.
