Mantasha Leather Creations

Our place, Mantasha Leather Creations, is at Plot No. 34, 83/258 Basanti Nagar in Juhi Khurd. We are right in the Juhi area. It’s a very practical part of town for the kind of work we do with leather. The surroundings are mostly industrial and residential mixed together. It’s dusty and loud most of the time. We have a decent-sized plot where we keep our materials and do the actual cutting and assembly. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk in. Some people find it strong, but we don’t even notice it anymore. We have been here for a good while now. The building is simple, with brick walls and a tin roof that makes a lot of noise when it rains. We don't have a fancy showroom. Everything is very hands-on here. We sit on low stools or stand at the heavy wooden benches to work. The lighting isn't the best, so we use extra lamps over the work areas. Outside, the roads in Basanti Nagar are a bit rough, and you have to watch out for the puddles when it’s monsoon season. We know all the other workers in the nearby plots. We often share a smoke or a cup of tea during the afternoon break. It’s a tough environment sometimes, but it’s where we feel most comfortable doing our thing. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready.
