Awadh Rice & Dal Mills

We are over in Railway Ganj, specifically in Mandi Purwa. Being near the railway and the mandi means Awadh Rice & Dal Mills is always in the middle of the action. It's a loud part of town. You can hear the trains and the shouting from the market all day long. We process both rice and dal here. It’s a lot of work to keep both lines running. The building is old and we have had to patch the roof a few times. We don't have any fancy signs or a reception desk. If you want to talk to us, you just walk past the bags and find whoever is running the machines. It gets really hot inside during the summer, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. We aren't trying to impress anyone with how we look. We just care about getting the grain through the machines and into the bags. Mandi Purwa is a tough place to work sometimes because it's so crowded, but it’s a useful spot for a business like ours. We see a lot of different people coming through with their carts and trucks. It’s a busy life, and we don't have much free time, but we like being part of the trade here. We just stay busy and try to make sure everything is bagged up correctly before the day ends. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do.
