Our society is called The Puzhathi Weavers Inustrial (W) Co. Op. Soc. Ltd. We are situated at No. Hl. Ind (C)27 in Post Kottali. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but we’ve been here for a long time. This is a place where the local weavers come together to work. It’s an industrial cooperative, so things can get pretty busy and loud during the day. We have various types of weaving work going on at any given time. The building itself is just a functional space with high ceilings and rows of looms. We don't spend money on decorations or anything that isn't necessary for the work. Most of our day is spent checking the threads and making sure the looms are running like they should. If something breaks, we usually fix it ourselves. We aren't a big corporation with departments; we are just a group of people trying to make a living from weaving. We handle the sales side of things as a society too. Sometimes it's a struggle to find enough orders, but we manage to keep everyone working. The area around Kottali is quiet, which helps when you need to focus on the patterns. We don't have any fancy talk for what we do. We just weave and hope the quality is enough for people to keep coming back. We just do our best here every day.
