L S Knits Wears

L S Knits Wears is our small workshop. We are located in the area around Pappinisseri and Puthiyatheru, near Puzhathi and Podikkundu. It is a bit of a mouthful to say the whole address, but people around here know where we are. We work with fabrics and knitting machines all day long. It gets quite warm in the shop when all the machines are running, but we have a couple of fans to keep the air moving. We make different kinds of knitwear, mostly stuff for everyday use. It is not high fashion or anything like that. Just solid, wearable clothes. We take pride in the fact that we do most of the work by hand or with older machines that require a lot of attention. You have to listen to the sound of the needles to know if everything is working right. My aunt taught me how to do this, and now I have a few others helping me out. We sit and talk while we work, which makes the day go by faster. Sometimes we have a lot of scrap yarn laying around, but we try to use it up for smaller items. We aren't looking to expand into some giant factory. We like the size we are now. If you are in the Podikkundu area, you might hear the clicking of our machines. It’s a steady life and it keeps us busy. We just keep making our knits and hope people like wearing them.
