L & T Construction

Operating out of our office at number 56 near the Eitt Hospital is an interesting experience. Since we are so close to the international airport, you can hear the planes taking off and landing all day long. It becomes background noise after a week or two. The office itself is usually covered in a thin layer of dust because, well, we are a construction outfit and that just comes with the territory. There are always rolls of drawings sitting on the desks and safety helmets hanging by the door. People come and go constantly, some heading out to sites and others coming back with mud on their boots. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find polished floors or expensive art on the walls. We have some old filing cabinets that squeak when you open them and a coffee machine that works when it feels like it. Being near the hospital means the roads can get a bit crowded with ambulances and visitors, so we’ve learned to be patient with the traffic. We don't really have big meetings with fancy presentations; it's mostly just standing around a table looking at plans and trying to make sure the numbers add up. It’s hard work and the days are long, especially when a deadline is coming up. We just keep our heads down and try to get the building work done right without too much fuss or complaining about the heat.
