Our office sits right on Mall Road in Mcleod Ganj. If you walk past Mai Square, you’ll probably see our sign hanging out front. It’s a noisy part of town because of all the people walking by, but that’s just how things are here in the mountains. We spend most of our time organizing trips and getting cars ready for visitors. Being on Mall Road means we see everyone, from monks to backpackers and families. Bedi Tours & Travels isn't a massive operation, but we stay busy enough. We have a small desk where we keep all the paperwork and a couple of wooden chairs for when people want to sit and talk about their travel plans. The weather changes fast up here, so we’re always checking the sky or calling friends down in the valley before sending anyone out on a long drive. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out, but we manage just fine. We’ve lived in Dharamshala for a long time, so we know which roads are blocked and which ones are clear after a storm. It’s a simple setup we’ve got. We don't use flashy posters or big sales pitches to get customers. Most of our days are spent answering questions about how long it takes to get to the next town or where the best views are. We just try to help people get where they need to go without too much fuss or extra cost. It is a good way to live.
