Maya Bhawan is where we stay, specifically in the Civil Lines area of Dharamshala. It’s a bit of a different vibe than the main tourist spots. It feels more like a neighborhood here. We’ve been running this travel business out of this building for a long time. It’s a family-run sort of thing, though we don't make a big deal out of it. We just handle bookings and cars. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place to keep our ledgers and take calls. Civil Lines is usually a bit quieter, which we appreciate. You can actually hear the birds sometimes. We know the local roads like the back of our hands. If there’s a landslide or a road closure, we usually hear about it pretty quick. We don’t have a fancy website with lots of bells and whistles. Most of our work happens over the phone or when people walk through the door of Maya Bhawan. We just tell people the truth about how long it takes to get to Manali or Shimla. We don’t try to sell them things they don’t need. It’s just about getting people from one place to another safely. The winters can be tough when the temperature drops, but we keep the heater going and stay open. That’s just the way we do things here. We aren't trying to impress anyone, just doing our daily work. It’s been this way for years now.
