Uma Hardwares

Uma Hardwares is situated at number 72 on Trunk Road in Karayanchavadi. It’s a very busy street with a lot of heavy traffic moving through all day long. Our shop is packed with all sorts of things from floor to ceiling. It’s hard to keep everything perfectly neat when you have so many different items coming in and out. We’ve been here for many years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The regulars know where everything is, but new people sometimes get a bit overwhelmed by the clutter. We don't have any air conditioning, so we keep the big shutters open and use a few ceiling fans. It gets dusty because of the road, but that’s just part of being on Trunk Road. We don't use a computer for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in paper ledgers. It’s just easier for us that way. The staff is mostly family or people who have lived in Karayanchavadi their whole lives. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just open up in the morning, help whoever walks in, and close up when the sun goes down. It’s a simple way of doing business and it has worked for us so far. We aren't planning to move or expand anytime soon because this spot on the road is just right.
