Our small company is set up over in Keseruguri, at Sri Diganta Saikia’s place. We are up here in the Dhemaji district where the landscape is beautiful but the farming can be pretty tough. Being a producer company means we are all in this together, trying to figure out the right way to handle our crops. We are not a big business with a bunch of managers. It is just us, the people who actually work the land. We spend a lot of time talking about the weather and the soil because that is what matters most to us. Sometimes the power goes out or the roads get blocked, but we just find a way to keep going. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing department. We just have our hands and our knowledge of the local area. If you come to Machkhowa, you will see what we mean. It is all about the daily grind of planting and harvesting. We try to help each other out with tools and advice when things get difficult. It is not always pretty and we make mistakes like anyone else, but we are honest about it.
