Our place is at 240/20, right behind the Indian Bank and near the New Power School in Sankarapuram. If you live around here, it’s pretty easy to find. We are Sankarapuram Women Farmer Producer Company Limited, and we are just local women trying to manage our farming a bit better. We spend a lot of our time out in the sun, so the office is a nice spot to sit down and do the numbers when the sun goes down. We deal with all the produce that comes from our own fields. It takes a lot of work to coordinate everything, like making sure the trucks show up and the bags are tied right. We didn't really know much about how to run a company when we first started, but we just learned as we went along. Some of us are okay with the math while others are better at checking the quality of the grains. Being near the school means we hear the kids all day, which actually helps us keep track of the time. We don't have any big plans or fancy marketing. We just want to make sure the work we do in the dirt actually pays off at the end of the day. It feels good to have a place that is ours, even if it’s just a simple room with some old ledgers. We are just neighbors helping each other out with the hard parts of the farming life.
