Down here in Kallakurichi Taluk, we stay pretty busy at Ayyanar Dairy And Poultry Farms Private Limited. We are located at No.107 on West Street in Mathur Post. It is a basic setup, nothing too flashy, just what you need for cows and chickens. The birds start making noise long before the sun is actually up, so we are usually out there in the dark starting the chores. Taking care of animals is a twenty-four-hour job. You can’t just turn it off when you want to go home. We have to make sure the feed is stocked and the water is clean every single day. The dairy side keeps us on our toes too. There is always something that needs fixing, whether it is a fence that a cow leaned on too hard or a feeder that got stuck. We don't spend much time in an office; most of our day is spent in the yard or the barns. It is a dusty job and your clothes always smell like the farm, but we don't mind it much. It is the life we chose. We just focus on the animals and making sure they are doing okay. We aren't trying to be the biggest farm around, just a steady one that does things the right way. People from the village drop by sometimes, and it is just a normal, hardworking place where we do our best.
