Nerkathir Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our small business, Nerkathir Farmer Producer Company Limited, is based at No. 43C on the Main Road in Viriyur. We are part of the Sankarapuram area, which is known for its agriculture. The office is right on the main road, so we see everyone passing by on their way to work. We started this producer company because we wanted to have more control over how our grain is sold. Most of us have been farming since we were young boys. The office is nothing special, just a room with some files and a few chairs for when the farmers come in to talk. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just rely on word of mouth in the village. Viriyur is a small place, so if you do good work, people will find out. We spend a lot of time looking at the quality of the paddy and making sure it's stored correctly. Sometimes the rain comes at the wrong time and we all have to rush to cover things up. It’s a stressful job but we are used to it by now. We don’t use any corporate talk here. We just speak plain English and get to the point. The Main Road is always full of life, and we like being right in the center of things in Sankarapuram while we do our daily tasks.
