Down on East Street, we’ve got the office for Manimuktha Farmers Producer Company Limited. We’re located at 3/274 in Vaniyanthal Village. It’s part of the Agarakottalam Post in Sankarapuram Taluk. It’s a rural area, mostly farms all around. We aren't some big city company. We’re just local people trying to help each other out with the farming business. The East Street office is where we do all the administrative stuff. It’s a small building, nothing special to look at. We spend most of our days talking about crops and prices. The soil around here is okay, but you have to work it hard. We’ve got a lot of different farmers involved in the company. It’s about sticking together so we don't get pushed around. Sometimes we have to travel to Sankarapuram for stuff, but mostly we stay in the village. It’s a lot of work to keep everyone on the same page. We don’t have any fancy mission statements. We just want to make a living from the land. The weather is always a topic of conversation. If it doesn't rain, we worry. If it rains too much, we also worry. That’s just life in Vaniyanthal. We keep things pretty basic. No one here wears a suit. We’re just in our work clothes, getting the job done day by day. It takes a lot of time to get everything sorted with the harvests and the payments.
