Sankarapuram Collective Farming Farmers

Sankarapuram Collective Farming Farmers is located right at the Elayankanni X Road in Mickelpuram, near Moongilturaipattu. It’s a rural spot in the Villupuram district, which is where we all live and work. We are a collective, meaning we’re just a group of local farmers who decided to pool our resources together. There’s no big boss here; we all have a stake in how things go. Our meeting spot at the crossroads is pretty basic. It’s where we store some of the communal equipment and gather to talk about the current season. The soil around here is good, but you have to know how to work it right. We spend most of our time in the fields rather than in an office. When we do get together, it’s usually to figure out transport for the crops or to buy seeds in bulk to save some money. It can get pretty hot out here, and the work is hard on the back most days. We don't have any fancy brochures or a sales team to promote us. We just rely on the quality of what we grow. Everyone in the village knows who we are and what we’re doing. It’s a way for us to survive as small farmers in a world that’s always changing. We keep our paperwork in a simple cabinet and handle most of our deals with a handshake and a lot of conversation. It’s just how things are done.
