L&T Costruction

We are out here on the Indian Air Force Phase Road in Salawas. It’s near Guda Bishnoi Village, so it’s quite a long drive from the main city area. This is our main site office for the various construction projects happening around here. It’s mostly metal containers and temporary sheds where we keep the blueprints and our tools. The ground is very sandy and the wind blows it everywhere throughout the day. We spend most of our time wearing heavy boots and hard hats, walking around the site to check on the progress. It’s not a comfortable office with air conditioning or nice furniture. We have a few old wooden desks and a lot of maps pinned to the walls with tape. The water comes in by a tanker truck every few days because there aren't many pipes out here yet. We eat our lunch under the shade of the big neem tree because the office gets way too hot in the afternoon sun. It’s hard work and the days are usually very long. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to wait for parts to come all the way from the city. We have a small crew of local guys who help us with the heavy lifting. It’s quiet out here except for the sound of the engines and the wind. We just focus on getting things built properly for the project.
