L J Bangles

Churi Bazar is always a loud place to be, but that is where you will find L J Bangles. We have been here for years, surrounded by all the other shops selling similar things. It’s a small space, mostly filled with boxes stacked up to the ceiling. You have to be careful walking around so you don't knock anything over. The light in here isn't the best, but we know where everything is. People come in looking for specific colors to match their clothes. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right size in the back. We just sit on the floor or the small stools and show what we have. It’s a bit dusty because of the open market outside, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Sometimes the colors don't look the same in the sunlight as they do under our old bulbs. We don't have a computer or anything like that, just an old ledger where we write things down. On festival days, it gets so crowded in the lane that you can barely move. We just try to keep the customers happy without making too much of a fuss. The bangles are glass and they break easily, so we spend a lot of time sweeping up little pieces from the floor. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what our family has done for a long time now.
