Aruna Smriti is the name of the building where we spend our days, located right on 4th "B" Road in the Sardarpura neighborhood. It looks like a residential area from the outside, but there are a few small businesses like ours mixed in among the houses. 350-C is our ground floor unit. We have been working out of this space since the early 2000s. The area is a little bit tight because of all the heavy machinery we have managed to squeeze into the rooms over the years. Diamond Edge is the name we chose because we started out doing very specific precision cutting work. These days, we handle a bit of everything when it comes to engineering. The front windows look right out onto the street, so we often see the neighbors walking their dogs or going to the market. It is a friendly and quiet neighborhood for the most part. We have a very small staff here, mostly just family members and a couple of guys who live on the next street over. We do not have a big, bright sign out front to attract attention, just a small metal plate by the door. Most of our customers find us through word of mouth from other people we have worked for in the past. We do not spend our money on marketing campaigns or fancy color brochures. If we do a decent job for someone, they usually tell their friends or business partners about us. That is just how it has always worked for our family. The shop floor is almost always a little bit messy with metal shavings and oil, but we make sure to do a deep clean every Saturday afternoon. It is hard work and the hours can be quite long, but we really like the feeling of being our own bosses. Sardarpura is a great place to be based. Everything you could possibly need is just a short walk away.
