The Ummed

The Ummed is situated on Anar Road within the Banar area of Jodhpur. We are positioned near the Jaipur Highway and Prem Nagar. It’s a bit of a distance from the crowded city center, which gives the place a different feel. The air is a bit clearer out here. There is quite a bit of space around the property. If you need the postal code, it’s 342027. We’ve been running things here for quite a while. Since it's a large property, someone is always fixing a fence or tending to the garden. We don’t try for a corporate atmosphere. It is just a solid, dependable place on the highway. Many of our guests are travelers driving between the major cities. They usually look like they need a good rest when they arrive. We get them checked in quickly without a lot of talking. Most of the guys working here are from the local villages. We chat about the weather or the local news while we handle our chores. It is a relaxed place for the most part. The highway is close enough that you can hear the heavy trucks passing by. We just keep things moving along. It’s not a complicated existence. We show up, do what’s required, and head home. That’s the way it’s always been at this spot. It works for us and it seems to work for the people who stop by.
