Ujhana Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is Ujhana Farmers Producer Company Limited and we are located at Kamaldeep’s place in VPO Ujhana. It’s easy to find if you know where Ramphal’s son lives. We started this because we all farm the same land around here and it made sense to work together. Most days involve someone stopping by to discuss the weather or the price of grain. We keep the records in a big metal trunk to keep them safe. It’s not like a city office at all. We have cows nearby and the smell of the farm is always around us. Sometimes we meet under the big tree outside if the weather is nice. We don’t use a lot of fancy words or have big meetings. We just talk like we always have. The village is quiet most of the time except during harvest. Then everyone is working from dawn until night. We help each other out with the heavy lifting or moving bags. If someone’s tractor breaks, we all hear about it and try to help. Our main goal is just to keep the farming going for another year. We don't have much in the way of furniture, just some plastic chairs and a wooden table. It’s enough for what we need. People from the neighboring villages sometimes come by to see how we’re doing things. We just tell them it’s about being consistent and showing up every day. That’s how life goes for us in Ujhana.
