Bhartaniya Foods Producer Company Limited is pretty much run out of village Bhartana. If you ask for Manoj Kumar, who is Om Parkash’s son, anyone in the village can point you to the right spot. We are in the Safidon tehsil area. It’s a rural life here, and our company reflects that. We don't have a corporate office with air conditioning. We have a porch and some chairs where we sit and talk about the grain. The village is small, and most of us have known each other since we were kids. We started this because we wanted to have more control over what happens to our crops after we harvest them. It’s not always easy, and there are days when the paperwork feels like too much, but we get through it. Manoj handles a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to the legal side of things. Most of the work happens early in the morning before it gets too hot. We don't use big words or try to act like we are something we aren't. We are just people from Bhartana who grow food and want to make a living. If you come by, you’ll probably find us wearing our work clothes, maybe with some mud on our boots. That is just how it is when you’re dealing with the earth every day. We just keep our heads down and work.
