Khyati Fly Ash Bricks

We operate out of the Belpahar village and post office area, right near the railway station. Being so close to the station means we hear the trains go by all day long. It becomes like background noise after a while. We specialize in fly ash bricks here. The yard is usually covered in that fine grey powder, so we have to wash down the equipment pretty often. We have a small crew of workers from the village who have been with us since we started. They know the machines better than I do. The sun can be really brutal out in the open yard, so we start early in the morning and take a long break when the heat is at its worst. Most of our bricks go to local construction sites nearby. People just come by with their own transport to pick up what they need. We have a small room near the gate where we sit and drink water and talk about the day. It’s a basic setup without any frills. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around for it to come back before we can start the mixers again. That’s just how it is living in a village. We don’t worry about it too much. We just do the work when we can. We try to keep a good stock so nobody leaves without their order.
