Anu Bricks

We’re based in Ubuda Village, which is tucked away in the Lakhanpur Tehsil. Our post office is over at Belpahar RS, so we’re not too far from the railway station. You can sometimes hear the trains in the distance when the wind is blowing the right way. Working with bricks in Jharsuguda means dealing with a lot of heat. The ground here is hard and the sun is bright for most of the year. We have a simple setup where we spend our days stacking and moving bricks. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. By the end of the day, everyone is covered in dust. We’ve got a small group of people working here, and we all know what needs to be done. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything like that. People in the village and the surrounding areas just know we’re here when they need something for a wall or a house. We see the same faces quite often. Sometimes the work is slow and we just sit in the shade for a bit, but usually, there’s a truck waiting or a load that needs to be prepped. It’s a steady way to live and work. We don't ask for much, just a bit of fair weather and a steady supply of materials to keep the production going. It’s hard work, but it’s what keeps us going in this part of the district. Every day is pretty much the same.
