We’ve been at Plot No. 483/b for a long time now. If you know GIDC-1 in Jamnagar, specifically the Shankar Tekri Udyognagar area, then you know how busy it gets around here. It’s mostly metal shops and small factories. Our place isn't anything fancy to look at from the outside, just a standard workshop with the usual noise of machines running all day. We deal with metal because that’s what everyone does in this part of Jamnagar. Most mornings start early before the sun gets too hot, getting the gates open and checking what needs to be done. The tea stall down the road is where most of the guys head for a break. We’ve seen the area change over the years, more traffic on the roads and more small units popping up in every corner of the estate. Working in metal industries means your hands are rarely clean and there is always a smell of oil and cut iron in the air. It’s just how it is. People know us by our location mostly. We don’t spend much time on office work or making things look pretty. It’s about getting the metal work finished so it can move on to the next person. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down, and that slows everything, but we just keep going. It is honest work in a tough part of town, but it’s our daily life here at Shankar Tekri.
