Ashwani Metals Pvt Ltd is over at Plot no. 17 in the GIDC Phase II area of Dared. It is an industrial zone through and through, with rows of sheds and the sound of heavy machinery everywhere. We deal with metal, specifically processing it into what our customers require. The workshop floor is where most of the action happens. It is usually dusty and the air smells like oil and iron, which is something we have all gotten used to. We do not have a fancy reception area or a polished lobby. When people come to see us, they usually just walk straight into the workspace. We have a handful of machines that we keep running as much as possible. Maintenance is a big part of our week because these things break down if you don't look after them. We have a small group of guys who have been with us since we started. We do not go for big advertisements or anything like that. Word of mouth is usually how people find out about us anyway. We keep our records in big ledgers and on an old computer that has seen better days. It is not a high-tech life, but it is a good one. We just want to do a fair day’s work for a fair day’s pay. Dared is a busy place, and we are just one part of it.
