Ratan Metals

Ratan Metals is over at Plot No. 5/b in GIDC-1, right on Indira Marg. We are in the Shankar Tekri Udyognagar area of Jamnagar. This whole area is known for metal, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. The workshop is usually filled with the sound of metal hitting metal. It’s a hot and loud environment, especially during the summer months. We deal with various types of scrap and finished pieces. The yard outside the main shed is usually piled with material waiting to be sorted. It looks a bit messy to an outsider, but we know where everything is. Our crew is small but they know their way around the furnaces and the tools. We don't have a formal lobby or any place for guests to sit. If you come by, you’ll probably have to stand in the driveway or come into the small office. We spend most of our budget on the tools and the power bills rather than the furniture. Jamnagar has a specific rhythm, and we follow it. The mornings are for sorting and the afternoons are for the heavy work. We don't have a big corporate structure. Everyone just pitches in where they are needed. Sometimes the boss is out on the floor helping out. It’s a hands-on kind of place. We’ve been at this spot on Indira Marg long enough that the postman doesn't even need the full address anymore.
