You can find Nishit Engineering over in Udyoganagar, specifically at Shankar Tekri, block K-1, number 282. Jamnagar is famous for this kind of work, so we are surrounded by other small shops doing similar things with metal and heavy machines. Our place is always full of the sound of lathes turning and the sharp smell of cutting oil. It’s a greasy job, and our hands are usually stained dark by the end of the long shift. We do a lot of custom parts and repairs for various folks who come by the shop with broken pieces. The floor is hard concrete and quite tough on the feet, but we’re used to it after all this time. We have a few old machines that still run much better than the new ones if you treat them right and oil them often. Every morning starts with a hot cup of tea while we look at the drawings for the day’s tasks. There is no air conditioning here, just some big fans that push the warm air around the room. We don’t spend any money on fancy brochures or websites because people around here already know where we are located. If a piece of machinery breaks down, they bring the part to us and we see what we can do to fix it. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We just keep our heads down and focus on the work in front of us until the sun goes down and we lock the gates.
