Joly Engineering Works

Our workshop is down at B-3, Shanker Tekri in the Gidc part of Udyognagar. It’s basically Joly Engineering Works, though some people spell it differently on the mail sometimes. We spend most of our hours around the heavy machines. It’s loud and dusty most days, which is just part of the job in this area. You can find us right in the middle of the industrial zone where everyone is making something or other. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but we have everything we need to handle the metal work that comes our way. We’ve got a routine that starts with tea and then we get to work on the orders. Sometimes we have a lot of work piled up and other days it’s a bit slower, which gives us time to clean up the tools. The floor is usually covered in scrap metal by the end of the shift. We aren't doing anything fancy, just standard engineering tasks for the local businesses around here. Being in Shanker Tekri means there are always trucks moving around and people shouting over the noise of the machines. It’s a real working environment, not one of those polished places you see in magazines. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get it right the first time. It’s a living for us here in Jamnagar, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the Gidc life over the years.
