Down in Dared, Jamnagar, at Plot No: 3056 in the Gidc Industrial Estate, Phase-3, is where we spend our days. If you've been to Jamnagar, you know the brass industry is the heart of the place. We are right in the middle of it. The air always smells a bit like metal and oil, and there is a constant hum of machines from every direction. At Premi Brasscom International, we handle all sorts of brass parts. It’s not the cleanest work; you’re going to get some grease on your clothes by noon. The floors are concrete and the roof is tin, so when it rains, you can barely hear yourself think. We have a group of guys who have been with us since we started at this plot. They know the machines better than anyone. We don't really have a fancy front office for visitors. Usually, if someone comes by, we just talk in the doorway or near the loading bay. It’s about getting the orders out to the people who need them. Sometimes the logistics in Phase-3 get a bit tangled up with all the tempos and trucks blocking the narrow roads, but we manage. We aren't doing anything revolutionary; we’re just making parts that people need for their own machines. It’s a basic business, run by people who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty every single day.
