About Rohit Brass Parts Works – Engineering in Jamnagar
Our workshop is tucked away in Digvijay Plot, on the 8th Cross Line. If you find Jagdamba Printing, we are just behind that building at number 56. It is a small place where we make different things out of brass. The machines we use are quite old and make a lot of noise throughout the day. There is always a smell of hot metal and oil in the air inside the shop. We wear heavy aprons because the sparks can be a bit much when we are working. Most of what we do is small parts for valves or decorative bits for furniture. My father started this works a long time ago and I just took over the business from him. We do not have a lot of space, so we have to be very organized with the scrap metal piles. The floor is almost always covered in yellow metal shavings. We sweep it all up at the end of every shift. It is just three of us working here right now. Sometimes the heat from the furnace is hard to take in the summer months when it is already hot outside. We drink a lot of water and take our breaks in the shade of the building. It is not a fancy life, but we take pride in the parts we make. People know us in this neighborhood for the brass work we do. We just keep doing what we know.
