Conex Metals

Down in Jamnagar, at B-10 GIDC-1 in Shankar Tekri Udyognagar, you’ll find us at Conex Metals. Jamnagar is famous for its brass and metal industries, and we are right in the thick of it. Our shed is usually hot and noisy, filled with the sounds of metal hitting metal and the hum of electric motors. We spend our days casting, cutting, and finishing various metal parts. It’s the kind of work that leaves your clothes smelling like the shop floor, and no matter how much you scrub, there’s always a bit of metal dust under your fingernails. We don’t have a big corporate office or a marketing department writing brochures for us. We just have our machines and a list of what needs to be made by Friday. The GIDC area is crowded, with trucks squeezing through narrow lanes and neighbors working on similar stuff right next door. We’ve been at this for a long time, and most of us could probably do the work with our eyes closed, though we obviously don’t. We just focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure we don't waste any material. After the shift ends, we usually lock up the gates and head home, ready to do the same thing all over again tomorrow. It’s a simple, hardworking life, and it’s how we’ve always done things here at the shop.
