About Shree Momai Engineering Works – Engineering in Jamnagar
We operate out of GIDC Phase-II in Dared. Our workshop covers several plots, including 693, 694, 733, and 734. It’s a large area because the engineering work we do needs a lot of room for the heavy machines and the raw materials we keep on hand. Jamnagar can get very hot in the afternoons, and out here in the GIDC area, there isn't much shade to be found. We spend most of our day on the shop floor where the noise of the lathes and drills is pretty much constant. Shree Momai Engineering Works is a family-run kind of place even though we have a good number of people working here now. The floors are made of concrete and they are usually covered in a bit of oil or metal shavings. We have a small office room built into one corner where we keep the blue-prints and the billing books. It has a single air conditioner that tries its best but often loses the battle against the sun. We don't have a lot of visitors, mostly just suppliers dropping off metal rods or the big trucks picking up finished parts to take away. The gates stay open from early morning until the evening. We take the work seriously and spend a lot of time checking the measurements. There’s a small temple in the corner of the compound where we light an agarbatti every morning before we start up the machines for the day.
