Vaishnavi Institute

Vaishnavi Institute is located in Gandhi Nagar, which is one of the more settled parts of Srinagar. We’ve been in this neighborhood for quite a while now. The building we use is simple and fits right in with the houses and small shops nearby. Inside, we have a few rooms that we’ve filled with desks and some benches for the students. It’s not a fancy place by any means. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floorboards creak a little when you walk over them, but it has a good feel to it. We don't really do much in the way of big announcements or marketing. Usually, a neighbor tells another neighbor about us, and that’s how new people find their way to our door. We spend our days mostly organizing schedules and making sure the classrooms are ready for the next group. There is a small tea shop just down the street where we usually go when we have a few minutes of peace. The students here are mostly from the surrounding blocks, so it feels like a small community. We keep a big calendar on the wall to track the dates, and that’s about as high-tech as we get. It’s a straightforward operation. We just want to provide a place where people can sit down and get their studying done without any unnecessary complications. That’s why we’ve stayed in Gandhi Nagar all these years.
