S P Higher Secondary School

In the middle of Jammu, over at Kachi Chawni, is S P Higher Secondary School. We are situated on Exchange Road, which is almost always busy. If you’ve ever been to Kachi Chawni, you know how the streets are—narrow and full of people going about their business. The market nearby is always loud with traders and shoppers, but it feels right to be in the middle of all that energy. Our school building is an old one, with thick walls that hold the cold in the winter. We have a lot of stairs and hallways that have seen thousands of students walk through them over the years. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. The windows look out onto the busy life of Jammu, and sometimes the sounds of the street drift into the classrooms. We don’t have much in the way of modern glass and steel. It’s mostly stone, wood, and a lot of history. The staff spends their time trying to keep things organized. We have stacks of registers and old files that go back a long way. It’s a busy atmosphere. Between the classes, the bells, and the parents coming in to ask questions, there isn’t much downtime. We keep the place running as best as we can. It’s not always perfect; sometimes a pipe leaks or a light bulb flickers, but we fix it and keep going. We are just a local school on Exchange Road.
