Down in Mishriwala, things can get pretty hot in the summer months, but we stay busy on the land regardless. Saajan Gupta started this with the idea of just keeping things moving for the local area. We aren't doing anything fancy or complicated. It is mostly just about taking care of the soil and seeing what grows best in this part of Jammu. We spend a lot of time talking about the water supply and the seeds we use. Sometimes things go well and other times the weather just doesn't cooperate, which is the risk you take when you work outside. People around here know where we are. It’s a quiet spot and we like it that way. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. If you come by, you'll probably just see us in our everyday clothes working on the fence or checking the crops. It's a small operation, really. We try to keep things simple and honest. Life in Jammu and Kashmir has its ups and downs, but the land stays the same. We take pride in what we do without making a big fuss about it. We’ve been part of this community for a while now and this farm is just an extension of that. Every morning starts early, usually before the sun gets too high, and we stay at it until we’re tired. It's just a regular farm life for us.
