Karyalagro Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are a group of farmers from around the Jammu area who decided to get together under the name Karyalagro Farmer Producer Company Limited. Most of us have been working the land here for a long time, following what our fathers and grandfathers did before us. Our main spot is over at Sat Pal Changia’s place in Jammu, which is where we handle the paperwork and meet up to talk about the crops. Farming in Jammu and Kashmir has its own set of problems, from the weather changing when you don't want it to, to trying to find a fair price for what we grow. We figured that if we pooled our resources, maybe we could get a better deal on seeds or tools that none of us could really manage on our own. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy like those big city offices. We spend most of our time out in the fields anyway. Sometimes the work is slow and other times we are rushing to get everything harvested before the rain hits. We just want to make sure the families here can keep farming without losing everything. It’s hard work, but being together makes it a bit easier to handle the bad years. We don’t have any big speeches or plans, just the daily job of looking after the soil and hoping for a good season at the end of it all. It’s just us doing what we know.
