Dhangri Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are a group of farmers from Dhangri II. Our main point of contact is at Tilak Raj’s place. Most of the people involved here have spent their whole lives working the soil in this area. We didn't start this company to get rich or anything, we just saw that we were all facing the same problems with getting supplies and selling our harvests. Now, we try to coordinate things a bit better. We meet up when we can to discuss which crops are doing well and what we should try next season. It’s very informal. You’ll usually find us sitting around talking about the weather or why the yield was lower than expected. We don't have a big staff; it’s just us and whoever is helping out that day. It’s tough work, especially when the rain doesn't come when it’s supposed to. We do our own packing and sometimes we have to drive the stuff to the market ourselves. There aren't any corporate perks here, just the satisfaction of seeing a good crop go out. We’ve had some ups and downs, and we’re still learning how to run the business part of it properly. But we’re local people who care about this land. We just want to keep farming the way our fathers did, but with a bit more support for each other. That’s really all there is to it. We keep our heads down and just keep working the fields every single day.
