Voyageur Tours & Travels

Our place is at 34, Uday Sanker Sarani, which is tucked into the Desh Bandhu Para area of Siliguri. It is a bit quieter than being right on the main highway, which we actually prefer most of the time. You can still hear the city noise, but it is a bit more manageable here on the Sarani. Voyageur Tours & Travels is basically just a room with some chairs and a computer where we sort out the bookings. We have been at this address for a while, and the neighbors are all used to seeing us coming and going at odd hours. Travel does not really follow a nine-to-five schedule, especially when there are groups coming in late or leaving early for the hills. We do not have any flashy signs or neon lights; we just have our name on the door so people know who we are. It is a bit cramped when more than three people are in the office at once, but we make it work. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy and we have to keep the door shut, which makes it feel even smaller inside. We spend a lot of time on the phone, checking on where the cars are and if the passengers are doing okay. It is not a glamorous life, but it is what we do. Desh Bandhu Para is a nice enough place to spend the day, and we have got a good tea stall nearby. (256 words)
