Anandepatil Agro Producer Company Limited is pretty much run out of Satish Chaburao Anande’s house in Tuljabhawani Nagar. This is over in Ghansawangi, Jalna. We didn’t see the point in renting a big expensive office when we could just use a room at the house to get things done. Most of us are neighbors and friends who have known each other since we were kids. We all grow similar things in this part of Jalna, and we realized that we were all facing the same problems with water and market rates. So we put our names together and started this company. It’s not very formal. You might come by and see us drinking tea while we talk about fertilizer orders or which truck to hire for the next harvest. We try to keep things straightforward. If someone in the group has a problem with their crop, we all try to figure it out together at the house. It’s a very local way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't use big words or have fancy presentations. We just know the land and we know each other. Working from Ghansawangi lets us stay close to our fields while still having a legal way to do business. It's just a practical way for a few farming families to stay afloat and maybe grow a bit together instead of failing on our own.
